Stars and fans reflect on her incredible and hilarious career that spanned over six decades.

Jessica Walter died this past week at the age of 80 years old from natural causes in her New York City home. Behind her, she leaves six decades worth of her acting career and many memories held dear in the hearts of her colleagues and fans. Her most notable and recent performance includes her role as the hilarious Lucille Bluth on the hit show, ‘Arrested Development.’ Her role on the show earned her an Emmy nomination.

Walter Is Remembered By Her Co-Stars and Colleagues

As such an important character and career actress, her memory lives on as co-stars and Arrested Development fans mourn her death in a series of posts and statements on social media.

Jason Bateman, one of the most familiar faces of Arrested Development, took to Twitter to share his condolences and memories of Jessica Walters saying, “R. I. P. Jessica Walter. What an incredible career, filled with amazing performances. I will forever remember my time with her, watching her bring Lucille Bluth to life. She was one of a kind. All my love and thoughts to her family.”

Lynda Carter played alongside Walter in the 1970’s The Return of Wonder Woman, having only fond memories of working with her, writing, “Jessica Walter appeared in The Return of Wonder Woman in 1977. Though we battled each other on-screen, in real life she was one of kindest, warmest, funniest women I’ve ever met. Jessica, I will always remember your sage advice on and off the set fondly. We will all miss you.”

Producer and actor, Ron Howard, tweeted out, “What a brilliant, funny, intelligent and strong woman. RIP Jessica Walter, and thank you for a lifetime of laughs and for sharing your incredible talent on our show and with the world. #jessicawalter”

Director Amber Tamblyn tweeted, “To the spitfire, brilliant, marvelous, Jessica Walter— I can still hear your glorious laugh, even now. Your presence in life and on screen will be greatly missed. #JessicaWalter”

Arrested Development Fans Mourn

Jonathan Berg of Twitter gave an homage to Jessica Walter’s most infamous character,  Lucille Bluth in this tweet typing, “Rip Jessica Walter. Arrested Development will live forever.” She was the comedy backbone to entire series, saying out-of-pocket snippets like the one Berg attached onto the tweet.

Reid did us all a favor and compiled a video with all her best and most memorable lines from the show tweeting, “RIP Jessica Walter. TV was never funnier.” Her character on the show is now one of the most popular gif reactions.

Dr. Sanjee Baksh wrote, “RIP Jessica Walter, who gave me the single most relatable quote for my academic career.” 

Carly Dossick posted this sad but hilarious meme, poking fun at when Walter’s character on Arrested Development thought bananas were $1o a piece, writing “Me eating my $10 banana and mourning Jessica Walter.”
